Pop Legend Cyndi Lauper, multi-platinum selling singer/songwriter Gavin Degraw, Grammy nominee Andra Day, and country music legend Wanda Jackson gathered together on Saturday, November 12th to tape a concert special honoring those who serve in the military, veterans, and their families.
The evening took place at the Rosemont Theatre in Chicago. The show, “America Salutes You” will air nationally over Thanksgiving weekend on Tribune Broadcasting, Sinclair Broadcast Group, and Graham Media Group. (click for local listings)
The national anthem was performed by Chicago’s Jim Cornelison, the tenor who sings at Chicago’s Blackhawks home games. Comedian Tom Dreesen held the role as emcee and was joined by celebrity presenter David Eigenberg (“Chicago Fire”).
The evening had many artists that took part in the show including; Cyndi Lauper, Gavin Degraw, Andra Day, Wanda Jackson, rapper Hoodie Allen, Gospel Grammy winner CeCe Winans, world-renowed tenor Anthony Kearns, bluegrass legend Ricky Skaggs, rising country star Tegan Marie, and singer/songwriter Savannah Maddison.
