Check out our recent interview with Lance!
upfrontNY: How would you describe your music?
Lance: I would describe it as very energetic, especially when we do live shows. There are story-telling songs that everybody can relate to. It is fun relatable music.
upfrontNY: When did you know you wanted to be a singer – songwriter?
Lance: I always wanted to sing and when we were kids in high school, we didn’t take song writing as seriously. 7 or 8 years ago I decided this is what I wanted to do full time.
upfrontNY: Since you started writing songs, is there anything specific that inspires your music?
Lance: I get a lot of inspiration from all kinds of thing from movies and things that I see happening to family, friends, and things in my life. In everyday life you can find things that inspire you.
upfrontNY: How does being from Georgia and your family life influence you as a person and a musician?
Lance: It taught me how to work hard and anything you want, you have to work for. If you want something you have to put all your effort into it and give it your all.
upfrontNY: Is there one place or venue you are hoping to play one day?
Lance: I would love to play anywhere. On my bucket list, I would love to play the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. That is one of my milestones we are working for. That would be the place I would want to play the most.
upfrontNY: I saw that you played at the CMA Fest this year. What was that experience like?
Lance: It was a lot of fun. You get to go out and play for your fans and people who haven’t heard your music before. I got to see the people I know in the music business. If you have never been to the CMA Fest I recommend that you go.
upfrontNY: Is there one musician you would love to hear cover one of your songs?
Lance: It would be an honor for anyone wanting to sing one of my songs. As a songwriter, if someone wants to I would be grateful.
upfrontNY: How do you think social media helps you connect with your fans?
Lance: It has helped us tremendously to be able to reach out to people. It is one of those things that’s an incredible thing.
upfrontNY: If you could do a duet with anyone who would it be?
Lance: I am a huge fan of Keith Whitley and the guys back in the day. Miranda Lambert and Rebecca Lynn Howard I would love to do something with.
upfrontNY: What does the rest of your summer look like?
Lance: We are going to be finishing up the album coming out in the fall. We have a lot of stuff, working on doing some stuff out west and maybe in Texas, Alabama, Georgia, and Flordia.
upfrontNY: What do you want people to know about your music?
Lance: We try to write stuff that people can relate to. It has been great to be able to write and record music. If people like a song, and say that a song out there is something they can relate to, that’s the whole point of writing music to me.
