Caitlin is currently working on her other love: music. She is working on releasing her first EP and currently released her single “Digging My Own Grave.”
Recently we got the chance to interview Cait!
Cait describes her sound as Dark Indie Pop. When writing music, Cait finds a lot of her inspiration from looking through different photographs. A love of music came from a young age. “When I would watch “My Little Pony” or “Barney” I would watch, memorize the episodes, and re-perform them for my family in song. I always wanted to create everything into a song, and was constantly singing.”
Her first single “Digging My Own Grave” off of her new EP was recently released. This song is a great introduction to her EP. Not only is there a great sound, but the lyrics are very relatable. Caitlin told us about her inspiration for the song. “I kept hearing that phrase over and over again and it reflected what was going on in my life at the time where I was in a situation where I knew it was bad for me, but I kept doing it. It felt like I was digging my own grave.”
She is very excited to see people listening and sharing this song with their friends, “It is overwhelming. I think it is awesome. It makes me feel really good and that what I am doing is worthwhile and what I am going through as a person can help other people too.”
What people can expect from her EP, “Someone listening to my EP would expect to hear a lot of different sounds and different feelings. I wanted to show different shades of who I am in each song so that people get a sense of who I am as an artist and a person.”
Cait has been pursuing music and acting from coast to coast, including a role in “Heathers: The Musical” which she really enjoyed “I would never trade it for the world.” While performing in the musical she had the opportunity to live and perform in both Los Angeles and New York City.
Cait really enjoys living bi-coastal and spending time in NYC. One of her NYC favorites include the food. “I look up all the food blogs. The food is absolutely fantastic at all times” Another favorite is getting the chance to meet so many unique people, “It is a huge melting pot of people. I love talking to people, and learning about their stories.”
With an EP coming out, there are many places that Cait would like to perform in the future. “I really want to go all around the world. I want to play music, go around the world, and really enjoy doing it.”
Her first EP is expected to be released by mid May and after the release, you can find Cait right back in the studio working on her next EP!
Keep up to date with Cait !
