upfrontNY: Can you tell me about your character Tigris.
Eugenie: Her name is Tigris and she is a former stylist for the capital. She had extensive reconstructive surgery to look like a tiger. She was kicked out of the capital because of her extreme looks.
upfrontNY: The make up and everything looks so amazing. What was the process like transforming into this character?
Eugenie: It was an incredible process. When we first started out it was 6 hours in the chair that includes hair. Ve Neil and Glenn Hetrick worked on me and created that look. I have tattoos all the way down my arms, on my chest, on my back, up my neck on my face. I am wearing cat eye contacts. I have prosthetics put on my face and claws.
upfrontNY: What was it like when you saw yourself for the first time as Tigris?
Eugenie: It was an aha moment. It was like that moment when you look at something and it takes your breath away. Seeing it in the trailer was unbelievable.
upfrontNY: When you got into this role, did you feel like you became that character, and how did you prepare?
Eugenie: One of the things I did, was worked with a choreographer. I could not discuss the character, but we talked about characteristics of tigers. She and I studied, from house cats to tigers. We studied what they did, how they approached things, how they walked, and that feline sensibility.
upfrontNY: What was it like getting on set with a group who had been working on the past movies together?
Eugenie: When I booked it there was an excitement and joy. When you walk into something new you bring that sense of excitement, but also hope that the people involved will embrace you. That is what I got when I came to the set. I was embraced. It was very interesting to see the family they were, and now I was invited to be a part of that family.
