Over 1,000 fans gathered together at the Ziegfeld Theatre on February 6th to see a special fan first premiere screening of the highly anticipated movie, “Fifty Shades of Grey“. This movie is based on the best-selling novel by E. L. James.

Fans lined up in the cold early morning to be a part of this exciting experience with the “Today Show“. After waiting, people were gathered inside where they had the opportunity to experience walking the “black carpet”, where guests chatted about their anticipation and excitement to see the movie, stopped for pictures with the displays, and were greeted by men in grey suits offering fancy beverages. Fans were even given their own key to Christian Grey’s Red Room.

Several fans had the chance to stay on the “black carpet” as it was used as a back drop for promos for the “Today Show” and the arrival of the cast.

Inside the theatre, the men in grey suits continued to pass out coffee and delicious snacks. There was also complimentary popcorn and soda. The event included a Step and Repeat inviting those who would like, to take a picture.

The theatre was packed with screaming women anxiously waiting to see their book fantasies come to life on the big screen. Before the screening, the “Today Show” anchors, Savannah Guthrie, Natalie Morales, and Carson Daly, interviewed E.L. James (Author), Dakota Johnson (Anastasia Steele), Jamie Dornan (Christian Grey), and Sam Taylor-Johnson (Director). Carson and Natalie both stayed and joined fans for the premiere screening of the movie.

The movie was everything and more. It was true to the book and Dakota and Jamie transformed into Anastasia and Christian. Not only did the movie show the hot and sensual side, but it was also extremely funny. Dakota brought sass to the character and Jamie brought the intensity. The chemistry was powerful and you could feel the heat between the two as their romance and “adventurous” side played out. The movie ended with the crowd wanting more.

The cast came back into the theatre and was thrilled at the response of the audience!
