Hudson Taylor played back-to-back shows on Tuesday and Wednesday night at the Loft at City Winery in NYC and we had the opportunity to attend night 2!
Hudson Taylor comprises of brothers Harry and Alfie Hudson-Taylor. The duo drew in a great crowd on a rainy New York City night.
They started off their set with “Travellin’”. From the moment they began playing, the band immediately owned the stage. The set included “Care”, “Run With Me”, “Easy Baby”, and “Butterflies”.
The intimate candle lit room filled with the lyrics of “Don’t Know Why” as the audience joined the band in singing “I don’t know why and I don’t know when, I need you now like I needed you then. I don’t know why and I don’t know when, I need you now like I needed you then.”
In the next part of the set the band talked about busking on the streets of Dublin where they meet brothers Oisín Walsh-Peelo and Tadhg Walsh-Peelo which led to the 4 joining together to play on stage.
Other songs performed during the show were “One in a Million”, “Don’t Tell Me”, “Chasing Rubies”, and “You Don’t Know”.
During the encore Harry and Alfie shared a special moment with the audience. Leaving the stage, they made their way to the back of the room and performed “Holly” a song that they wrote about their sister. Followed by Harry, Alfie, Oisín, and Tadhg joining together again around one microphone. Four musicians, a microphone, and singing “Shot Someone” acapella was a powerful moment. Fans in the front then jumped up on their feet during “Feel It Again”.
The night was filled with great music. Hudson Taylor is extremely talented in their songs, the instruments they play, and the chemistry on stage.
