California born singer, JNNA is taking the music scene by storm. She is set to release her new EP very soon and hopes to be embarking on a tour. Get to know this modern and soulful singer.

upfrontNY: What can you tell us about your upcoming EP/new music?
JNNA: Well I’m so excited to announce that I’ll be releasing a cover and music video towards the end of January! And I have recently completed my first original JNNA track and I’ll be releasing that not too long after the cover. I think for now I’m going to release my tracks single by single instead of releasing an EP! But so far, I think my first track is eclectic musically and super vibey I hope that it will be an awesome introduction of myself as JNNA to the world.
upfrontNY: We hear you love camping and hiking, what has been your favorite memory while enjoying the outdoors?
JNNA: Yes!! I’ve always loved the outdoors but ever since I met my boyfriend Doug four years ago, I’ve finally been taking advantage of what’s right in my backyard! So far, the best memories I have are from the camping trips I’ve taken with a huge group of my friends and Doug. We just recently went camping up at one of our favorite spots in the San Gabriel Mountains. It was POURING and 37 degrees but I was surrounded by the people I love most so that made it sooooo much better.
upfrontNY: What can you tell us about your upcoming single?
JNNA: Well it’s done and ready to release I’m just waiting to do that until after I release my cover and music video first, later this January. This track has such a “feel good/reminiscent” vibe to it; I actually wrote it about when I first met my love, Doug. Also, I’m already coming up with ideas for its video which is super exciting.
upfrontNY: Who were your musical influences growing up and how do they inspire your own original music?
JNNA: One of my first performances was me singing “If I Ain’t Got You” by Alicia Keys. I’ve always been a huge fan of hers; not just musically but spiritually as well. She is such a beautiful person inside and out, and I just strive to be as passionate and genuine as she is as a musician and human being.
upfrontNY: If you could tour with any artist, who would it be?
JNNA: Rihanna hands down. I’ve never met her, but I can only imagine how fun it would be to perform around the world with her. She seems like such a fun and down to earth person, and she is insanely talented and badass as an artist
upfrontNY: What is your ultimate goal for your music in 2017?
JNNA: To finally release enough of my own music to be able to perform and tour locally, then nationally, and eventually globally.
upfrontNY: You support various charities, can you tell us about your involvement and what draws you to each one?
JNNA: Each charity does work in an area of life that I care about; from child abuse, assisting the homeless, and caring for animals. I feel when you’re put in a position in life where you can help someone you should — it’s a way of repaying your good fortune in life.
upfrontNY: If you could describe your new music in 3 words, what would they be?
JNNA: Eclectic, soulful, vibey.
upfrontNY: When you go on tour is there a city in particular that you are very excited to see?
JNNA: Honestly, I’m excited to see every city that I will one day tour! In the US, I’ve heard amazing things from friends about Nashville. Outside the country, I’ve never been to Australia so Sydney or Melbourne would be super cool.
