Recently we got a chance to interview Madeleine McGraw. She made her feature film debut in 2014 in the Academy Award nominated film “American Sniper” as Bradley Cooper’s daughter, McKenna. Madeleine can also be seen co-starring in the Cinemax drama television series, “Outcast”. The season finale will air this Friday, August 12th.

upfrontNY: How did you get your start in acting and what do you love most about it?
Madeleine McGraw: After I booked a couple of print campaigns, I really wanted to try acting. My Manager/Agent sent me out on a couple of auditions, I got really great feedback. I think I booked my second or third TV audition.
I love being on set and making friends. I really love the pretending part and getting to be different characters. I always meet the nicest people and make lifelong friends.
upfrontNY: Can you tell us about your character Amber in Outcast?
Madeleine McGraw: Amber is having a difficult time. She misses her dad and is really angry with her mom. I think it’s sad. She is so confused about everything right now and just wants her life to go back to being normal.
upfrontNY: What has been the best part of filming this show?
Madeleine McGraw: Meeting Patrick (Fugit) my pretend dad for sure. He’s just really fun and he’s such a good actor and really spends time teaching me things. Plus it’s super fun being on location in South Carolina.
upfrontNY: How was it playing Bradley Cooper’s daughter in American Sniper?
Madeleine McGraw: It was really fun. I was only 5 at the time, but I remember everyone being so friendly and kind. Especially Mr. Eastwood. Mr. Cooper was really nice and super focused. He stayed in character the whole time. I thought that was amazing.
upfrontNY: Do you have a TV show you would like to be in or a type of character you would like to play one day?
Madeleine McGraw: Does Rey from Star Wars: The Force Awakens need a little sister or a young cousin?? I would freak out if I ever got to be a part of a Stars Wars movie!
upfrontNY: What do you like to do when you are not acting?
Madeleine McGraw: I love playing soccer!! Like LOVE it!!! I also like to play with my brothers and sister! We all love going to Disneyland together! I also love swimming and playing with makeup.
upfrontNY: Do you have any favorite summer time activities?
Madeleine McGraw: I love going to the movies and swimming. I just learned how to swim this year, so I want to go swimming all the time! I also like playing outside a lot. My twin brother and I like to pretend we are stunt people. We get on our bikes or scooter and then when we get close to the lawn we fall off and pretend like someone got us or that we crashed or something.
