Check out our recent interview with Presley!
upfrontNY: What did you enjoy most about filming The Pineville Heist?
Presley Massara: I loved working with the Pineville team – it was like winning the casting lottery! Both the cast and the crew were all much more experienced than I was, and they were really helpful in guiding me throughout the entire film. I made some lifelong friends on the film and through those bonds that we formed, we ended up with was a film we can be proud of.
upfrontNY: Can you tell us about your character Aaron?
Presley Massara: Yes the Pineville Heist is an action thriller about a bank robbery that leads to a murder. I play Aaron Stevens, the son of the richest man in Pineville. He is an all around American teen, full of life and spirit, who is struggling to gain the love of his father. He’s got a cool best friend and his journey in The Pineville Heist marks his growth as a young adult. In the film you will see the length that he goes to see that things are put right, and you see how far Aaron will go to protect those he loves.
upfrontNY: The film is based on a novel. Had you read the novel before filming?
Presley Massara: I had! I was given the book as a gift from a friend, and loved it. It’s kind of surreal to eventually end up playing the lead character from it, especially after being so familiar with the book.
upfrontNY: The film is due to be released soon. Who do you plan to see it with?
Presley Massara: I really want to see it with two of my really close friends, as I know they will tell me the truth about my performance! The critics have been kind so far, but it’s your friends that REALLY don’t hold back!!
upfrontNY: Do you have a go to movie snack?
Presley Massara: Number one is definitely M & M’s, I mix them with the popcorn…trust me it works.
upfrontNY: What was it like transitioning from Perth, Australia, to LA?
Presley Massara: It’s actually been OK! I get to travel between Australia and LA really regularly, so I really have the best of both worlds.
upfrontNY: Are there any other parts of the country that you really want to explore?
Presley Massara: Yes, Texas! I have never been and I would love to go and explore.
upfrontNY: What is next for you?
Presley Massara: I have been cast in Grease the Musical in Australia and I play Johnny Casino. I also have a role in William Froste, a big budget thriller so stay tuned for that one!
