On February 23rd country music fans gathered at iPlay America in Freehold, NJ . The evening was hosted by Thunder 106.
Lauren Davidson kicked off the night. The Freehold native told us, “I’ve been wanting to play at iPlay America ever since I found out they were going to be having concerts there. It was well worth the wait. Playing in my hometown to a packed house with Craig Campbell was so special and the crowd was electric. I felt a sense of hometown pride that I’ve never felt before in my life.”
Lauren Davidson is a very talented singer/songwriter who has been making a name for herself in the NYC music scene. From the moment she steps on stage, she knows how to grab the crowds’ attention with her unique and powerful voice, energy, and her interaction with her band. It is very apparent that she loves performing and the crowd loves her too.
Lauren’s set included all original tunes. “Don’t Stop”, “Hear Me”, “It’s You”, “Right Here With Me” and her single “Sometimes” are all from her EP. In a New Jersey Venue, surrounded by Jersey natives, Lauren got the crowd cheering with her song “Jersey Girl”. Lauren slowed things down with her brand new ballad, “Pouring Rain”. Nothing can be better at a country concert that a song about drinking and Lauren brought it with “I’ll Drink To That”.
Her set also included “It’s You” which she described as a relationship song that she wrote with Cristian Castro who plays guitar in her band. Her last song of the night was a very special song, one of her first singles “Sometimes”.
Lauren Davidson is one to keep your eyes on!
After the crowd got pumped up with Lauren Davidson and her incredible set, Craig Campbell took the stage with “Talk Country To Me”.
He then brought out his guitar and covered Bon Jovi’s “Wanted Dead Or Alive” which led into “My Little Cowboy”. Other songs from Craig’s set include “Outta My Head”, “Tomorrow Night”, “When I Get It” and “Fish”. From his guitar to his piano, which he said was his first love, Craig Campbell brings so much talent, experience, and excitement to the stage.
Throughout the evening he also covered “Let It Go” from Frozen, John Legend’s “All Of Me”, and Billy Ray Cyrus’ “Achy Breaky Heart”. When he played his single “Outskirts Of Heaven”, the room filled up with the crowd singing along.
What a great night for country music!
