Leanne Weiss is a singer/songwriter from New Jersey. She started singing at a young age, which led to singing lessons, performing in theatre productions, writing music, and even singing in a wedding band in college. She believes in living her life to her fullest and she is definitely doing it!
Leanne grew up listening to many strong woman country artists including; Faith Hill, Shania Twain, Martina McBride, and Carrie Underwood.
We talked to Leanne about when she knew this is what she wanted to do. “I saw Carrie Underwood in concert and it was a divine intervention. I got home from that concert and was lying in bed and couldn’t go to sleep.” Leanne knew that this was what she was meant to do and decided to go for it.
Leanne has had so many amazing experiences so far on her musical journey, including one of her favorite performances, when she played at FarmBorough Music Festival this past June.
“We opened on the next to Nashville stage. We were on the same stage as Cadillac Three and Jon Pardi. It was such a great experience and the weather was beautiful. It was what I had always envisioned. It was like a dream come true.”
Leanne has a new EP, Momentum, that came out on November 13th. We are big fans of this EP! “It is so cool how a song starts. It is like a spark, it flows. We have great musicians that were brought in and played on it.”
Throwback is a great anthem about moving forward. “I can see people saying, I don’t want to be anyone’s throwback, I want to live in the moment and the future.” This is one of those songs that motivate you to move forward and leave the past behind.
Another song on the EP is, Country Girl and we talked to Leanne about balancing a busy life with settling down in a place with less noise. As the lyrics say, “I don’t mind the city life, but every now and then that same old feeling comes back again.”
Leanne is excited for the release of her EP, and hopes to keep up the “momentum” with her music. Her future goals include performing at CMA Fest, going on tour with a big artist, and one day playing the Grand Ole Opry.
