Check out our recent interview with the very talented actress, Lindsay Lamb!
upfrontNY: How did you get involved in acting?
Lindsay Lamb: I first got involved when I was 10 years old I auditioned for the theatre in my hometown Fort Myers, Florida. They were doing a musical and my teacher at the time told my mom she should try to get me into theatre in order to get my energy it. I auditioned for that and I booked it and then I had my mom and dad get me into acting class and have been going from there. I moved to Boston and then New York and California now.
upfrontNY: What has the transition been like for you moving to different cities and pursuing acting?
Lindsay Lamb: For me it was great and necessary. I think it was good I went to New York first and learned how cut throat and fast paced it was then moved to California. I think it was a good way to go about ending up here.
upfrontNY: You have been busy and have many films coming out. What has this been like for you?
Lindsay Lamb: It is great! I feel like I have been working so long at it. Everything is coming out at the same time and I am going to try to keep that momentum up. It has been a cool couple of months with everything popping up.
upfrontNY: Can you tell us about your film, “Arlo: The Burping Pig”?
Lindsay Lamb: It is about a family who is new to town and the girl who plays my sister is having a hard time making friends and adjusting and she finds a pig in our backyard. It is like the misadventures of this pig and how he brings our family together. It is going to be adorable for the whole family.
upfrontNY: You have another project coming out, “Apple of My Eye” can you tell us about this film?
Lindsay Lamb: My best friend directed it. It is about a girl who was in a tragic accident and loses her sight. Burt Reynolds plays the character who trains a seeing eye pony for her. I had so much fun working on that film. I am also an associate producer on it and I have been able to be a part of the post production as well and been able to see the different pieces of that. We are all beyond thrilled with how it came out. Sony is releasing it worldwide.
upfrontNY: This story sounds like it’s providing encouragement for others who have gone through something similar. Has there ever been a time for you that you have gone through a difficult time and been given encouragement?
Lindsay Lamb: Absolutely. My dad got very sick when all of my sisters and I were very young. I think that being young and watching someone else go through it and end up fine and stronger than before and united is such a powerful message for young kids and adults. I know that i look up inspirational quotes all the time. I think it is important when families see on-screen people going through the same things they are going through and it is not just them, they are not alone.
upfrontNY: You said you look up a lot of inspirational quotes. Which one is your favorite?
Lindsay Lamb: I have two that I like. I have one on my phone, my screen saver, You don’t get the same moment in life twice. This reminds me everyday that this day isn’t going to happen again and to appreciate every moment. The other one is And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music.
upfrontNY: You have these two films coming out, one happy and one really encouraging. You have another film coming out that is very different, “Blue Line”. Can you tell us a little bit about that film and how it differs?
Lindsay Lamb: “Blue Line” is an action film. The film is about a woman who is in a relationship and with friends goes on a heist. They start doing things to get her out of that relationship and situation. They kidnap my character in order to hold me hostage, because they know that no one is going to harm them while they are running around and have me. They strategically kidnap me. It was my first film that I booked out of college so it was really cool. That is the film that I am always going to hold close to me.
upfrontNY: When you are not acting, what do you like to do in your downtime?
Lindsay Lamb: I have two little dogs that I am obsessed with. I spend most of my downtime with them. I also love cooking. My perfect night would probably be cooking with the dogs in the kitchen and watching some murder mystery documentary.
upfrontNY: Do you have a favorite meal to cook and murder mystery documentary to watch?
Lindsay Lamb: Documentary –The Jinx, The Staircase and Meal –Turkey meat sauce over pasta
upfrontNY: Is there anything you want others to know about you or your films?
Lindsay Lamb: I think that what I would like to tell people is I have a lot coming out in the next couple months and I am very grateful for everything that I have been offered. For everything thing that I have booked or shot there are so many projects that I auditioned for that I didn’t book. For all those young girls and young men who are growing up and wanting to pursue something like this, if it is really your passion, just keep going and keep pushing forward. Something is going to happen for you!
