upfrontNY: What is your favorite part of acting?
Lucy Capri: I love everything about acting – especially traveling to new places, meeting new people and making new friends. I especially love it when I have a set “sibling.” It’s so fun!
upfrontNY: Can you tell us about your role in “Fractured” and what you enjoyed most about being in the film?
Lucy Capri: In “Fractured,” I played “Peri Monroe.” She is a little girl who has an accident and goes to the hospital, where she disappears. It’s a mystery – you have to watch it to see what happens! There were a lot of things that I loved about filming it and it would be hard to pick just one. I liked playing in the snow and doing my stunts especially. I got to go to stunt school and that was SO cool! I really had a lot of fun with Mr. Sam and Ms. Lily too. We laughed a lot together!
upfrontNY: What is it like to see yourself on TV?
Lucy Capri: It was kind of weird at first. Now it makes me feel happy because I worked so hard to get the parts. I am very thankful for things I’ve gotten to do.
upfrontNY: You are in the upcoming Netflix film “Hillbilly Elegy.” Can you tell us about it?
Lucy Capri: This is a movie is about a family growing up together in the Appalachian Mountains. It will be an adult movie I think. It’s based on a book that was on the NY Times Best Seller list for 18 months, my mom just reminded me. 😉 It’s directed by Ron Howard and stars Ms. Glenn Close and Ms. Amy Adams.
upfrontNY: What was it like working with Ron Howard?
Lucy Capri: Mr. Howard was so very kind. He was always saying, “thank you” for everything and he smiled a lot. He made me feel like a good actor because he said lots of nice things. 🙂
upfrontNY: You were only 5 years old when you booked the role of LuLu with the first national Broadway tour “Waitress”. What was it like being on stage?
Lucy Capri: It was a dream come true! I had seen the cast perform in the Macy’s Day Parade when I was 3 years old and told my parents I could play “Lulu” someday. I was so excited when they had auditions, when the tour came through our state. I love being on stage and making the audience laugh. I really, really loved dancing, singing and saying my lines. When the audience laughed, I felt so happy!
upfrontNY: You have spent a lot of time overseas filming. What do you like most about traveling?
Lucy Capri: I love flying! It’s so awesome to see new places. Canada was so cool because I got to see snow for the first time. Europe was soooooo pretty too! Everyone was so nice and all the different accents were so cool!
upfrontNY: Where do you hope to travel to one day?
Lucy Capri: I would love to go to Hawaii! I love playing at the beach and building sand castles. My big sister calls me a “mermaid” – I LOVE to swim too!
upfrontNY: Have you gotten any good advice from others you have worked with?
Lucy Capri: When I worked with Ms. Lily on FRACTURED, she helped me understand the sad scenes better, and so did Ms. Catherine (Zeta-Jones, on QUEEN AMERICA). They were both really kind and reminded that we were only acting and to imagine how the character would feel if what was happening was real. They were so nice and really super sweet.
