The most recent film screened as part of the New York Film Critics Series was, “Is That a Gun In Your Pocket ?” The red carpet screening took place on Tuesday, September 13th in New York City.
The film comes from writer, director, producer, Matt Cooper (Last Supper, Panic, Perfect Opposites) and his longtime collaborator, producer Lori Miller.
After a gun incident at a neighborhood school, a stay at home mom, Jenna goes on a mission to remove all of the guns in the town. Jenna’s husband and his friends love their guns. When Jenna fails in convincing her husband to get rid of his gun, she takes matters into her own hands. Jenna decides to withhold sex from her husband until the guns are out of the house. What starts as a challenge between husband and wife becomes much bigger as Jenna recruits other women to join her.
Throughout the screening, viewers found themselves overcome with laughter. The film was very enjoyable, from the one-liners, to the chemistry of the actors, and the hysterical unexpected jokes.

Matt Cooper has had an experience that involved with-holding sex which helped inspire his film. When discussing the film and the battle of the sexes he posed the question- Would you rather be right, or would you rather be happy?
