Recently we got the chance to interview Ashley Gerasimovich. Ashley stars as Delilah on the TBS comedy “The Detour”. The show centers on a family vacation road trip and all of the unforeseen disasters they encounter on the way.
At the age of 5, Ashley auditioned for her first role and booked it. She played the part of Naomi Watts and Sean Penn’s daughter in “Fair Game”. Ashley’s credits also include “Louie”, “30 Rock”, “Blue Bloods”, and “Deadbeat”.

upfrontNY: What do you love most about acting?
Ashley Gerasimovich : What I love most about acting, is trying to slip into different characters. It makes it fun and challenging.
upfrontNY: What has been the best part of being a part of the show, “The Detour.”
Ashley Gerasimovich: The best part was how the cast bonded as a family over the 9 weeks. By the end of filming, Liam and I had sort of a brother sister relationship and Natalie and Jason did an awesome job as being my parents.
upfrontNY: If you could go on a road trip anywhere, where would you go and who would you go with?
Ashley Gerasimovich : I’d like to go across America because I want to see the diverse features of each part of the country. I would bring my best friend and my entire family.
upfrontNY: What would be the number one place you would want to visit
Ashley Gerasimovich : I want to see Mt. Rushmore.
upfrontNY: What would be your go to music on a road trip?
Ashley Gerasimovich : My favorite band is Imagine Dragons so I would want to listen to them.
upfrontNY: Can you tell us about your movie, “A Different Sun”?
Ashley Gerasimovich : It is based on a Chinese Novel. It is about a Chinese family moving to Germany. A German girl meets the family’s daughter. I play the German Girl. They become best friends.

upfrontNY: What has been your favorite filming experience?
Ashley Gerasimovich : My favorite experience is “The Detour” because it has been a crazy, fun, wild ride throughout the entire thing. Meeting new people and going to different locations was really fun.
upfrontNY: If you could be on any TV show what would it be?
Ashley Gerasimovich : I want to go on the Reality TV show, Survivor. I think I’d be good at that. I think I’d be smart enough to complete the challenges, friendly enough to make alliances, and handy enough to help build a shelter.
upfrontNY: Would you be scared to eat bugs?
Ashley Gerasimovich: If I had to eat bugs, I have to do what I have to do. It would be a cool experience, but I would be grossed out by that as well.
upfrontNY: After filming a show like that, what would be your go to meal?
Ashley Gerasimovich : I would have a big creamy bowl of mac and cheese with a cheeseburger and fries on the side, and bacon on all of it.
upfrontNY: If you could work with any actor or actress who would it be?
Ashley Gerasimovich: My little sister Erin works with Hugh Jackman and I would like to work with him one day too. He played Wolverine, has been on Broadway, and can sing and dance. He can do everything! My little sister told me he ‘s really nice as well!
upfrontNY: What do you like to do when you are not acting?
Ashley Gerasimovich : I like to do Tae Kwon Do. I’m a blue belt and it is really exciting to learn new moves and how to defend yourself. I also like to take horseback riding lessons and read comedy books.
upfrontNY: What is your favorite book?
Ashley Gerasimovich : Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. I want to read the entire series.
upfrontNY: What’s next for you?
Ashley Gerasimovich : I am excited to graduate my first year in Middle School. I am excited to do season 2 of “The Detour” and hang out with my friends.
