Paxton Booth is an adventure loving, fashion savvy kid who can be seen doing his own stunts as Ollie Wrather on Disney’s Coop and Cami Ask the World!
upfrontNY: First of all, can you tell us about Coop and Cami Ask the World and your character, Ollie Wrather?
Paxton Booth: It’s a family show about a single mom and her four kids (the neighbor, Fred acts like the fifth kid) and their everyday problems. The middle siblings (Coop and Cami) have a streaming show called “Would You Wrather,” where they ask their followers for help with different situations.
I play the youngest sibling, Ollie, who is the “test pilot” for the online show. He finds himself in lots of situations, like taking a bath in leftovers and riding a donkey in the house. He’s a really fun character to play!
upfrontNY: What was your favorite episode to shoot so far?
Paxton Booth: There is an episode where all the boys get together and try to act like spies from their favorite movie series “Dude Force”…but it doesn’t quite go as planned. I really liked the story and I think fans will too!
upfrontNY: Do you think you could ever leave your decisions up to your followers?
Paxton Booth: No way. I would listen to their opinions, but I can’t let other people decide for me.
upfrontNY: Does being a BMX rider help you in your stunts on the show?
Paxton Booth: Absolutely. Riding BMX has taught me body-awareness and balance. I’ve been riding in skateparks with my dad since I was three and it’s really helped me develop good core strength. It also taught me how to fall gracefully!
upfrontNY: You hope to one day have your own fashion line, what is your style like?
Paxton Booth: I really like a lot of today’s trends. There are so many really cool styles for teens and adults, like animal print, creeper shoes and lots of floral. Unfortunately, that doesn’t transfer to the kids section! Most of the clothes made for kids are just regular T-shirts and jeans with video game characters or cartoons on them. Don’t get me wrong, I love wearing my Scooby-Doo shirt, but I don’t want to wear it every day! I’d like to see more options for kids to express themselves in what they wear.
upfrontNY: You love cars and collecting Hot Wheels, how did you get interested in that?
Paxton Booth: I’ve been going to car shows with my parents since I was little and just fell in love. I like everything from the classics to the customs.
When I was 4 my grandma gave me my dad’s collection of Hot Wheels from when he was little. I thought they were the coolest thing ever and haven’t stopped collecting since. I’m also very into the history of Hot Wheels and spend a lot of time reading about them.
upfrontNY: What would you want your first car to be?
Paxton Booth: Okay, my dream car would be a 1965 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 350, but my mom probably won’t let me get that as my first car. So maybe an early 90’s BMW M3.
upfrontNY: You love old horror movies, if you could be in any horror film made which one would you pick?
Paxton Booth: I would consider the movies I’m into to be more ‘monster movies’ instead of horror. They are usually cheesy and the camera pans away before you see too much gore. There is a movie from the 80’s called “Monster Squad” that I would absolutely love to be in! It’s like the “Goonies,” except instead of looking for treasure, they are fighting Dracula and the Wolfman!
