Alan Cumming hosted an advance screening of Ron Nyswaner’s “She’s The Best Thing In It” at the Core: Club in New York City.
Alan introduced the film before the screening. “She’s The Best Thing In It” explores Tony Award Winner, Mary Louise Wilson’s experience of returning to her hometown in New Orleans to teach an acting class.
Throughout the film you are given a look inside her world through both her career and personal life. From the stage to the big screen, she has experienced so much through different characters. She shares the roles she loved and the one she was less thrilled with.
You are let into her past and learn more about her family, her marriage, and living in New York City. There are special moments showing the bond between her and her sister through their love and humor.
The film is filled with laughter and you can’t help but love her humor. Mary Lousie Wilson is extremely talented with an interesting life story to tell.
It ends with a surprise explanation for the title of the movie, “Shes The Best Thing In It.”
Following the screening, there was a Q&A with Ron Nyswaner and Mary Louise Wilson.
Ron described how the pair knew each other for a long time and he wanted to show the integrity of her life and work.
