Stuffed Puffs held a formal ceremony on November 19th to celebrate the building of their new factory in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. It was a fun filled day full of treats and inspirational words by the VIPs.
When you first walked in you were welcomed by the Stuffed Puffs team, recipe videos including DJ Marshmello himself and fun food stations including of course a campsite s’mores station!
Stuffed Puffs are marshmallows with chocolate on the inside, making for a perfect s’more. Creator Mike Tierney has been working on this idea for eleven years, starting in his mother’s kitchen. Now Stuffed Puffs can be found in any Wal-Mart across the Nation.
The ceremonies were led by Factory LLC founder and Stuffed Puffs partner Richard Thompson. Factory LLC is a team of experienced operators who take high stakes equity in food processing companies. They surely believe in Stuffed Puffs and Mike Tierney. Richard Thompson mentioning that he found it so fitting to have this celebration on National Entrepreneurs’ Day celebrating a truly hard-working, talented entrepreneur. Stuffed Puffs partners and local officials including Jim Petrucci (CEO J.G. Petrucci), Don Cunningham (President of the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation), and Dennis Davin (Pennsylvania’s Secretary for Economic Development) came out to say a few words and are very happy that this endeavor will bring over 130 jobs and more than 30 million dollars in investment to the Lehigh Valley area.
DJ Marshmello and Moe Shalizi came all the way from L.A. to show their support of Stuffed Puffs. Shalizi stating “At that time we had an offer from a big marshmallow company to do something, but as an entrepreneur myself and seeing his vision and his drive, it felt from one young entrepreneur to another young entrepreneur; we’re both under 30 we can accomplish something great! We decided to join along on the ride with Mikey.”
Founder Mike Tierney of course spoke to thank those that are working with him and sharing that it has been a long, difficult journey. From perfecting the actual product to pitching his ideas to other companies to venturing out on his own; he really showed that persistence pays off. Mentioning that he wasn’t the first person to come up with this idea or even the millionth, but that he is the one who believed in it and kept working hard until it came to fruition.
It was truly a community event with local community representatives, families and even a class from the Charter Arts School that got to join in the fun. They even had a twitter contest amongst the students and the winner received a personal picture session with DJ Marshmello.
Now that the ribbons have been cut and job interviews are on their way the new Stuffed Puffs facility should be up and fully running by mid-summer just in time for summer s’mores fun!
